Our family relocated to Indianapolis a little over a year ago. The combination of the move and studying music at Butler University has been all-consuming! We live near campus which is close to Broad Ripple Village, home of Indy CD & Vinyl, the largest independent record store in Central Indiana. I stopped in and they were more than happy to inventory "All I Need." I couldn't help but pick out a new turntable for my wishlist. Maybe I will have to issue "All I Need" on vinyl!

Today I'm releasing my digital single of "What Child Is This?. It is available as a free download on SoundCloud through December 31, 2014. It's also available for purchase here, as well as on Amazon and iTunes.

"What Child Is This?" was written by English hymn-writer William Chatterton Dix in 1865. The music is the popular tune, "Greensleeves," a 16th century English folk song.

I love this hymn because it not only reminds us of the story of Jesus’ humble birth but the second verse refers to the cross and actually includes a plea for those listening to place their faith on Christ for salvation. Then, the hymn ends with a verse of beautifully‚Äč‚Äč written praise.

Merry Christmas!

"All I Need" is now available at the Immanuel Christian Bookstore at Immanuel Bible Church in Springfield, VA and at the library at Grace Brethren Church/Grace Christian Academy in Waldorf, MD. Thank you to these ministries for making my CD available for purchase!

For several months I endured pain in my abdominal area while singing and doing other physical activities. It became significant enough that I was on extended voice rest. Over the summer this pain was diagnosed as a core muscle injury, formerly known as a sports hernia. My injury was surgically repaired in July, and I've been recovering with physical therapy.

The surgery was performed by Dr. William Meyers at the Vincera Institute in Philadelphia, PA. He has dedicated 25 years to pioneering the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of core muscle injuries and regularly performs surgery on professional athletes. Click on this link to see a great video that tells about his practice and the procedure that I had done.

Thank you so much to all who prayed for me during this time. God's grace has been abundant, and I am thankful!

A year ago today I entered the doors of Nightsky Studios, practiced and ready, with Kickstarter funds in hand. This morning I entered the doors of the music shop where I teach and saw the CD on display right inside the entrance. Read more:

My CD is now for sale at Island Music Company and Bernie's Frame Shop in LaPlata, MD. Please stop in and support these awesome small businesses!

I'm still amazed by God's grace, that he would send His Son to die for us, that He rose victoriously from the grave and that we can experience His grace in our daily lives.  This week I tweeted lyrics from "All I Need" that remind us of grace.  If you missed them...

Happy Valentine's Day!  While we usually think of the people in our lives that we hold dear on Valentine's Day, why not spend some time remembering how deep our Redeemer loves us?  This week I tweeted song lyrics from my album that remind us of God's love.  If you missed them...

Just a quick update to let everyone know that "All I Need" is now available in audio CD format on!

Also, I released the bonus track, Fullness of Grace, as a single on Jango Internet Radio.  It is a Christmas song that expresses the wonder of the Savior's grace, hope and love.  Check out Jango in your device's app store.  It's a great way to discover new artists and has very few audio ads.

Several months ago, God placed on my heart the desire to record an album.  After crowdfunding with Kickstarter and a busy summer in the recording studio, I'm happy to share with you that I'm releasing the album today!

"All I Need" is a collection of songs that point the heart's attention to the soul's greatest need.  With a folk-inspired, acoustic sound, modern and traditional hymns and songs are woven together with the theme of God's grace and love.

Some of you may know that November is National Adoption Awareness Month and that for several years my husband and I have been involved in missions work in Russia.  To that end, God has moved me to give a percentage of the sales of the album through December 31st to Doorways to Hope.  This organization's mission is to help orphans find loving, Christian families in their home countries.  Currently, their focus is in Russia and the Ukraine.  (Note: In Russia, there are estimated to be more than 730,000 orphans.)  In 2012, donors helped Doorways to Hope place 512 orphans in families in their home countries.  Doorways to Hope has become increasingly important as Americans are barred from adopting Russian orphans.  You can check out their website:
